The Mission at San Juan Bautista

A road trip to San Juan Bautista and the Mission the other day....some nice pictures but freezing weather. This is the most adorable little town with of course The Mission a huge tourist attraction.  On a Monday morning after the Holidays we where almost alone in touring this old Mission and snapping pictures for a few hours.
Lunch a a Mexican restaurant and coffee at a local bakery before driving home again. Stopping at the Gilroy outlet is a giving since all of a sudden all the girls in the car had to go "potty" just as we drove by the Outlet exit.

THANK YOU.... so very much...

Thank you all so very much for hanging out with me here in My Art Gallery during 2009.

2010 is around the corner and I am very excited to start the new year with some new thoughts and ideas.

FIND FOLK ART (on eBay) has turned out to be a very good place for my art. I paint daily and feel happy doing so....if someone loves my art enough to pay for it, yippee... as long as it pays for the canvas it was painted on.  So far all my paintings have sold and I hope they all have found good new homes. For me it is sometimes hard to part with my creations.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL....

2010 Calendar...FREE...

Here is a FREE Calendar for 2010

Use it as you see fit....print, put on your blog....whatever tickles your fancy. My fancy is...to try and enjoy this coming year a little more than I did 2009....don't even know where it went. Feels like I missed out and did too much whining and complaining about things that in the end really does not matter.

As I wait for New Years Eve I want to enjoy these last few days of having my husband home from work and kids out of school. Tomorrow we drive down to San Juan Bautista  for the day and hope for a nice sunny trip. My camera is charging and I hope to get some nice pictures.

Find Folk Art.....

Something NEW is happening with my ART... I have been asked to be represented by Find Folk Art! My art will be sold through them on ebay and online. This is wonderful news and I am very excited.

FFA is a company that sells original art and print reproductions online and offline. They offer me high visibility with  large numbers of national and international buyers of art.

Hope the Holidays are merry for all of you. I am busy trying to wrap all the gifts (boy does that take time). The first hour is fun but after that....it's a drag.

I will have all 3 kids home for Christmas and can't wait. Baking and cooking is on the calendar for this weekend and the crochet addiction I have lately have to be put on hold for a little bit.

If you have a white Christmas keep me in mind. Talked to my Mother in Sweden yesterday as she was looking out the window as huge snow flakes landed on her outdoor tree. This time of the year I always miss "home" even if 2010 will be my 21st year here in the US.

UGLY DOLLS

I just love these little guys....They seem to be everywhere I go...and I think Santa is bringing me the little key chain one...the green, one eyed monster. They do have names! you might even know what they are (I don't).

Other than that I have spend the morning crying over spilled songs....after loosing my computer to some fatal bug a few months ago I just today realized I have lost songs on iTunes. Good thing I have a 19 yr old son on break from school that can help me with this...

To all of you  Ugly Doll fans out there hope you have a good one. To the rest of you the same and hope your Holiday shopping is further along than mine :)

Making Holiday Gifts....

Having FUN making gifts.... for Birthdays and Christmas... In our family we have two 3 birthdays during the Holidays.

I made some shabby 4" quilt squares with letters for my niece who is turning one next week. Sort of like a book I guess... Also a super soft flannel quilt in brown and pink. The brown, blue and tan is a crochet project I started yesterday...playing with some fun flowers on top. I think I have 3 afghans started and someday one of them will be finished :)

What are you making for the Holidays?

Busy making more ART...

Here is some brand new fun ART... available on Ebay
These items are all great for gifts with the Holidays upon us.

Personally I have bought 3 gifts so far but pretty much know what I am getting... most online. I much rather spend the day painting in my studio than running over people at the mall.

Online shopping is wonderful...

You can even create your own wish list....you probably knew that already but think about it for second. If you have a husband with not so good gift giving skills why not make life easy for him with a wish list on Amazon..You just mail it to him and never say a word about it. Somehow these guys think an elf or Santa himself send that email and you will end up on Christmas morning with the book you really wanted to read. Not a vacuum cleaner or Kitchen Aid :)

These paper bag albums are adorable, all you do is add some of your own pictures and you have a cute little brag book album (8x8) to put on your coffee table for the Holidays... or why not give as a gift.

Oh Cristmas tree....Oh Christmas tree....

Is it not amazing....the things we do around the Holidays...like driving 3 hours to get a Christmas tree...just because it is a loved tradition....even when you have moved far away and there are tree lots on every street corner where you live today.

That is what we did the day after Thanksgiving. We had all 3 kids in the house and started talking about how we always found the perfect tree at "Santa's Acres" in Camino California each holiday since the kids were little. We jumped into the car and drove.... 3 plus hours north... to Santa's Acres and relived memories and traditions yet again. What a perfect but long day :)

Soccer season over....

After a long soccer season for my youngest daughter I am so ready to be done with the every other day driving to practice. The games on weekends are fun but limits you to do anything else....for months on end. We now have a few weekends off...until the indoor
soccer season starts :)

I cannot  believe it is Thanksgiving in a few short days and Christmas decorating next weekend.  What happened to the fall....and all the Christmas shopping I wanted to do before the holidays this year :)

Need to get busy since from now until New years eve we are a busy family. Both daughters have birthdays, Swedish Christmas Eve, Christmas Day American style, Advent and Lucia Swedish style and our little niece's first birthday.

I do not have a single gift for Christmas or birthdays.... Perhaps I will do Amazon for all of it this year. The pumpkin pies will be baked tomorrow and birthday dinner the day after that. Dust off the stove and hit the kitchen. Gotta love the holidays.

Jelly roll fabric and messy ART Studio

I just love fabric....how can you not? These jelly rolls are amazing and so much fun to work with. I found this one yesterday at the amazing price of $6.99. The strips of fabric are 2,5" and the roll holds 42 strips. The project is a log cabin block quilt and I can't wait to get started....

That is where the problem starts! I can't wait to get started... hm... think I have something I "need" to do first...

My Art Studio is a MESS...I can't fit anything on my very long desk since it is covered in unfinished projects and fun ideas...You see, I often say, "I can't wait to start working on this new project" and I do... I start and very often finish but on a normal day I work on several projects at a time. I get easily bored and if I am sewing on a quilt that I really don't feel like working on the work gets sloppy and the quilt nasty. I might feel like painting flowers one minute and glue gnomes to wood the next... so I do...

That is why one wall in my studio looks like this....filled to the brim with supplies and ideas for inspiration... Perhaps when it all comes down to it I can't work as well in a neat and organized studio as I can in a messy, colorful, yummy and inspirational one like my own. I do love my studio more than any other place and I think I will start that new log cabin quilt right now :)

Birds on the brain yet again... these birdies keep showing up in my art...better not ask why :)

Another tree of course... this one in mixed media collage.

Other that today is another sunny day here in California but boy was it cold overnight... in the 30s BRRrrrrrr... I am running errands most of the afternoon, cleaners, drug store, post office...Another Tuesday in the life of an Artist.
